The origin of kitchen comes from the West Germanic and Dutch culture, where it is called ‘coquere’ which means ‘to cook’. Some also call it as kitchen-diner, cookhouse, bake house or kitchenette but across Asia it is called kitchen.

A woman rules the kitchen more often and the minimum number of hours spent cooking per week among consumers worldwide as of June 2014 is 6 hours, country wise. In India the time spent in cooking at an average is 13.2 hours per week. It is always occupied and the most visited place, from morning coffee to late night bites or ice cream. In India, the people associated to cooking are more as compared to other countries.
